Caffeine - the new weapon against skin cancer

But we should remember that every time we excessive expose to sunlight is a real danger to health and skin cancer... is the greatest threat. Studies of American researchers have shown in the past that regular consumption of products containing caffeine, like coffee or tea, may offer protection against skin cancer.

New research in the field of dermatology has strengthened the study.

The researchers recommend consumption of coffee and tea is already know that exposure to sunlight cause DNA damage in skin cells and they become cancerous.

Paul Nghiem professor of dermatology at the University of Washington in Seattle found that regular consumption of products with caffeine lowers the risk of skin cancer. The most common sources of caffeine are coffee, cocoa beans, cola nuts and tea leaves. Of these, coffee and tea are the most adequate for consumption say the specialists.

For the study, Dr. Nghiem tested the effect of caffeine on skin cells that were exposed to ultraviolet radiation. Caffeine interrupted evolution of protein called ATR-Chk1, which is responsible for cell destruction.

ATR protein causes that affected cells by UV to multiply and have potential to develop cancer. According to the study, caffeine has the role to block the multiplication of cancer cells and destroy those already affected by UV rays.

Coffee and tea are some drinks that contain a significant amount of caffeine. A cup of coffee may contain up to 140 mg of caffeine depending on the range and an average cup of tea contains 40 mg of caffeine. Caffeine in tea and coffee help us have the mind sharp and diminishes the fatigue.

Also, caffeine makes us feel full of energy and helps us to focus better.
